About

Jeff Gordon began supporting organizations such as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society early in his career. The diagnosis of his crew chief’s (Ray Evernham) son in 1992 inspired Jeff to establish his foundation in hopes of helping children facing critical illness to realize their dreams.  What had started as a small project driven by one special child has grown into an organization that has granted over $11 million for children’s charities.

Through the years, Jeff has been dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children.  He has established a long-term relationship with Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, providing funding for new construction, equipment, and most recently providing $1.5 million to establish The Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation Pediatric Cancer Research Laboratory.Jeff actively works the Children’s Oncology Group to fund clinical trials of the most promising treatment protocols.  Most recently, Jeff’s foundation funded the Long Term Follow-Up Center, a collaborative research program that will focus on the growing number of survivors of childhood cancer, and will be the foundation for numerous future studies aimed at improving treatment outcomes.

Jeff also dedicates his time to organizations like the National Marrow Donor Program, working with legislators on Capitol Hill to ensure support of the National Bone Marrow and Cord Blood Registries which assist both children and adults seeking a transplant match for the treatment of cancer and other blood diseases.

In December of 2006, the Jeff Gordon Children’s Hospital at Carolina’s Medical Center-Northeast, opened its doors and is now in its fifth year of service to children.  Jeff actively participates in the continued growth of the hospital providing funding for state-of-the-art equipment and spending time with patients and their families.

Among his other volunteer and advocacy efforts, Jeff actively grants wishes to critically ill children through the Make-A-Wish Foundation and was recently honored as the number one celebrity wish granter in the organization’s history.

Jeff Gordon’s skills on the racetrack prove him to be one of the greatest drivers in NASCAR history; however, it is his passion for helping kids that has left a legacy for our community and our children.
