As a leader in sports philanthropy, Jeff Gordon co-founded Athletes for Hope in 2006 alongside Andre Agassi, Muhammad Ali, Lance Armstrong, Warrick Dunn, Mia Hamm, Tony Hawk, Andrea Jaeger, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Mario Lemieux, Alonzo Mourning, and Cal Ripken, Jr. The founding athletes created Athletes for Hope to inspire and help more athletes to get involved in philanthropy, to inspire millions of others to volunteer and to support community and charitable organizations. Athletes for Hope members recognize there is a special connection between athletes and the fans that support and follow their careers with interest. Athletes for Hope has utilized that connection to create a movement for positive change by supporting a variety of causes throughout our nations communities. Jeff Gordon has been given the opportunity to visit with many children facing adversity, meeting with these courageous children and their families is the motivation and inspiration behind the work he supports at Athletes for Hope and the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation.
