Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) serves the needs of critically ill or injured children from birth to eighteen years of age. With a growing specialist physician staff, patients in the PICU can receive a wide variety of treatments. The PICU is fully staffed at all times with a 2:1 to 1:1 nurse to patient ratio helping families of pediatric patients feel more at ease with constant care always being provided.

All of the monitoring devices and medical equipment can be moved and adjusted to make the patient more comfortable, allowing a bed to be near a window or in the center of the room if needed.

The design of the unit accommodates the variety of patients it sees. Offering fully equipped sleep rooms and an eat-in kitchen so families of patients can feel as close to home as possible. Families are encouraged to take an active role in their child’s plan of care that will aid in the recovery process.
