Childhood cancer patients can stay at hospitals for months at a time. It is difficult for families to keep their rooms from becoming stale. "Send a Smile" greeting can add a dash of color and happiness to those dull rooms. Greetings are hand crafted cards with messages of happy wishes created by perfect strangers who care. The greetings are not focused on the patient’s sickness and to hope for a good recovery, but on making a child feel special by wishing they have a great day. Here are some helpful tips on creating Giggle Greetings and examples of appropriate messages. To make the greeting card extra special, add a touch of personality by literally inserting yourself in the card—a flat version. FLAT FRIEND Girl and FLAT FRIEND Boy can be placed in each greeting. Print it, decorate it, and place a picture of yourself on its face so the child receiving the card knows its creator and has a new friend. This is an easy, but highly effective opportunity to help children suffering from cancer. Creating the cards can be done with simply construction paper, scissors, and markers. Please read the rules for creating the greetings to ensure the safety of the recipients. Click here to view the rules for greetings. Send all cards to the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation and they will be distributed to a hospital. Jeff Gordon Children's Foundation Attn: Greetings 4345 Papa Joe Hendrick Blvd Charlotte, NC 28262 |
