2011 Promise Circle Grant Recipients

Learning for Life $15,000
Funding will be provided to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt for the Learning for Life program. Funding will provide the Children's Hospital with an exemplary, multidisciplinary, comprehensive school support program that provides families and schools with information, guidance, and direct services addressing the educational needs of patients treated for cancer from time of diagnosis into survivorship.
Comprehensive Education Youth and Family Services Program $15,000
Funding will be provided to the Ronald McDonald House New York in support of their Comprehensive Education Youth and Family Services program which provides temporary housing for pediatric cancer patients and their families in a strong, supportive, and caring environment which encourages and nurtures the development of child-to-child and parent-to-parent support systems.
AYA Oncology Program at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation $15,000
Funding will be provided to the AYA Oncology Program at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation to provide the best multidisciplinary care for patients aged 15-22, a traditionally underserved population in terms of age appropriate programming. Offering psychosocial support, fertility counseling and peer support groups.
Pediatric Hospice & Palliative Cancer Care $10,000
Funding will be utilized by the Hospice of Western Reserve, Inc. to provide palliative end-of-life care, caregiver support and bereavement services to pediatric cancer patients throughout Northern Ohio. Hospice of the Western Reserve does not ask families to make the impossible choice between comfort and cure, regardless of the family’s ability to pay. When children with cancer enroll in the Pediatric Palliative Care Program they can continue seeking curative treatments while receiving hospice and palliative care services.
SuperSibs! Sibling Resource Assembly for North Carolina $10,000
Funding will be utilized by the SuperSibs!Intergrated Sibling Support Program to train hospital professionals, by providing them with the tools and resources they need to integrate support for siblings into pediatric oncology care. SuperSibs! ensures that siblings of children with cancer are honored, supported and recognized to help them face the future with strength, courage and hope.
