Fundraising Ideas

Game Night

Who doesn't love board games or have great memories of playing them as kids? Raise money for a great cause by grabbing your favorite board games, inviting some friends and family over,  breaking into teams and let the fun begin!  You may also have some fun prizes donated to make the night more competitive. Serving a few snacks is also never a bad idea.

Movie Night

Everyone needs a night to kick up their feet, relax and have fun with some friends. Grab a new flick from Netflix, Redbox or even your own personal movie collection, invite some great friends over, get out the pop corn and enjoy an evening of entertainment. You can be as creative as you want with this event by making it themed with an 80's movie night, have an action packed flick line up or if you are a brave bunch you can host a scary movie night.

Wine and Cheese

This may require a little more of a budget and a little more effort, however all of it will be worth it in end. For this event you will want to reach out to your local winery, wine cellar, vineyard, wine retailer, a local restaurant or even your local grocery. You may host your event at numerous locations such as a vineyard, a winery, a local restauraunt, a banquet hall or even your own home.  This event may be a large event, or a small private exclusive event.  Be sure to send out formal invitations for your event. Creativity is endless for hosting a Wine and Cheese Fundraiser. You may want to have individual tables set up with each table featuring wines from different countries or regions of the United States or only feature wines from your favorite vineyard.  Cheese does not have to be your pairing of choice for your event. You can spice it up with pairing your wine with cupcakes, or a special dish. Be sure to inquire about your state and local laws on serving alcohol at a fundraiser prior to planning.

Corporate Matching

Create a fundraiser at work such as "Breakfast at Work" and see if your company will match what you raise.

Company Grants

Check to see if your company participates in company grants for their employees whom volunteer. Many companies will give grants to those organizations that their employees actively volunteer with.

Dress Down Day

Who doesn't love a relaxed dress down day? Especially one at work! Organize an official dress down day at your company. For a set donation, employees will be able to dress down for that day. You may also inquire about corporate matching for this event.

Baby Sitting

Simply offer to babysit for the evening for a donation.

House Sit/Pet Sit

While your friends and family are out on vacation, why house sit or pet sit to raise money.

Neighborhood Chores

Everyone has a list of tedious chores that never seems to quite get finished these days. What better way to raise funds for some really wonderful kids and help out your neighbors at the same time! If you’re a handyman, set up signs and flyers in your local community. Have a set fee you charge for each chore with proceeds going to Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation.

Garage Sale

Who doesn't love a sale? Why not make some room in your house by hosting a yard or garage sale! You may hold your own, get a few friends or even the whole community involved! Make sure you inform your customers that their money is going to a great cause! You can maximize this event with hosting a bake sale along with it! You can't get much better than a sale, a yummy treat and helping out some wonderful kids all at the same time!!

5K, Hike, Walk

Why not raise funds while enjoying the outdoors at the same time! You may host this event at your local track, state park or community trail . For this event you can also partner up with your local running group, community schools track teams or sports apparel shop.

Yoga, Pilates, Aerobics, Spinning

Partner up with your local gym or yoga studio to raise funds while getting in shape at the same time!

Hold a Bake Sale

Who doesn't love pastries! Bake sales are a super fun, easy and scrumptious way to bring attention to such a great cause! Bake Sales can be held virtually anywhere from outside grocery stores, farmers markets, garage sales and inside the mall.  You may want to have a themed bake sale for holidays such as Easter, Valentines Day or Christmas. Spice up your presentation with decorative bags, ribbons or boxes for your delicious treats! You may also want to offer coffee or other beverages to help raise some more funds and encourage customers to socialize.

Breakfast at Work

Everyone seems to be rushing out the door in the morning and grabbing their breakfast from the vending machine at work. Why not provide a more healthful breakfast and get your whole company involved in raising funds for some really wonderful kids! This event is fun, simple and quick to prepare!  For a small donation or set fee, you can provide your co workers with a yummy breakfast and help out a great cause!  You may purchase bagels from your local bakery or grocery store along with a few different fun spreads for this event. Doughnuts are also another fan favorite, even though they are not what we would call healthy necesarily, but who doesn't love doughnuts! Be sure not to forget the coffee! Starbucks as well as some other coffee retailers are great about donating coffee with all the fixings! You may also want to provide juice for those non coffee drinkers. This event can be easily switched up as well. You may want to highlight a different breakfast food item each time like bagels, doughnuts, muffins or even some fruit.  Breakfast at work is a wonderful idea to get your whole organization involved in raising funds and can be held on a weekly, bi-weekly or as a monthly event.

Dog Wash

Almost everyone has a dog or loves dogs, so why not pamper these adorable pooches while raising money for some great kids at the same time!? This event can be held in a parking lot of your community school or local grocery store or anywhere there is a concrete like surface and a water supply. For this event you may want to rally up a few extra volunteers to make your Dog Wash runs smoothly. A great way to do this is to set up stations for each step of the dog wash; wash, rinse, dry and finishing touches. A fun way to add a little extra sparkle to your event is to get bows and bandanas for the freshly pampered pups. This is really inexpensive. You can purchase ribbons and fabric from hobby stores or even any department store for a really low cost. A fun way to maximize your event is to have a snack bar not only for the owners, but for the dogs too! For the owners you can have bottled water, soda and some fun snacks. For the pups you can create small dog treat bags, an assortment of bones or even some donated toys.  You may also want to join up with another great cause like your local dog rescue to maximize publicity and funds. Don't forget to ask all participants have rabies vaccination tags for you, your volunteers and other participants safety.

Hold a Car Wash

A Car Wash is always a simple and fun way to fundraise, but you want to make sure that yours stands out from the others that are going on that weekend!  You can spice up your car wash by providing a snack bar for your participants. This encourages everyone to get out of their car, socialize and raise more funds to such a great cause. Your snack bar can include items such as candy bars, crackers, cookies, bottled water, soda and maybe some juice for the kiddos. These items can be purchased in bulk at a low cost or you may get them donated.

Tennis Tournament

Who doesn't like a little fun in the sun, especially when it's for a great cause! This fundraiser may take a little more preparation but will be worth it in the end.  Gather the community at local park, local high school or even your local racquet club for some tennis fun! Make sure you have enough volunteers for this event, there will be lots to do!  Also, ask around at your local nutrition and sports apparel shops to get some fun prizes donated. You may maximize this event with pairing it with a bake sale, auction or another sports tournament.
