“Hats Off To Hope!” Helmet

Four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, Jeff Gordon will be sporting a special helmet at the May 18th All-Star Race in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Race coverage will begin at 7:00 p.m. EST on SPEED, with green flag scheduled at 9:00 p.m.

The helmet design (Click here to view full gallery of photos), which features illustrations from Dr. Seuss classic “The Cat In The Hat”, was a collaboration between the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation, Dr. Seuss Enterprises, L.P. and Random House Children’s Books, as part of their year-long celebration, Hats Off To Hope!   The goal of the partnership is to bring hope and joy to the 40,000 children currently undergoing treatment in cancer centers throughout the United States.

Gordon’s helmet will be auctioned later this year, and funds raised will be used to support childhood cancer research.  The unique helmet will be the first-ever, Cup Series worn helmet that Gordon has ever authorized for sale.  To receive detailed information about the future auction, please complete the registration form below.  (Bidding will begin at $5,000)

In addition to raising funds, “Hats Off to Hope!” will bring the magic of Dr. Seuss to children going through treatment in cancer centers throughout the United States. In partnership with the Children’s Oncology Group network, children currently in treatment will enjoy a day of fun celebrating Dr. Seuss! They will receive specially designed red and white striped beanie hats and will enjoy Dr. Seuss books, movies and games and distribute specially designed red and white striped Cat in the Hat beanie to children currently in treatment. Participating hospitals will also receive Dr. Seuss books, DVDS, games and more for children to enjoy while in treatment.
